The door lock / latch is what keeps your door closed, it connects at the striker on your door jamb. If you have a latch that won't respond to the lock/unlock function or is intermittently sticky/slow to open or close, you may need to replace the latch assembly. Over a period of time and constant use, these latch assemblies can stop functioning properly. Replacement involves removal of the inner door panel and working within the door shell.
