KONI Sport shock absorbers were developed for sporting drivers by focusing on exceptional road holding and handling properties, combined with an acceptable level of comfort. These are good alternative to the serious driver who wants rebound adjustment but does not need the full height and corner balance capability of a coil over system. The rebound and compression of these units is slightly more aggressive than the factory Delphi units, and they work well under track or autocross conditions. The rebound is adjustable and have infinite range between the firm and soft detents, so you can have it adjusted to just how you like it.

KONI’s Sport shocks are designed for drivers looking for a sporty driving experience. These products focus on exceptional road-holding combined with an acceptable level of comfort. KONI Sport characteristics include responsive steering, reduced body-roll and limited body movements. Many Sport shocks are externally adjustable shock absorbers, making fine tuning even easier.

KONI Sport 'Yellow' shocks offer the same exceptional road-holding as the Classic 'Red' shocks, but are especially designed for cars that are fitted with lowering springs, which are shorter than the original springs.

KONI Sport Yellows are not the average shock absorber, the following features make them unique:

  • Many Sport shocks are externally adjustable by means of a knob and don't need to be disassembled from the car
  • Damping forces can be fine-tuned to personal driving style and road conditions in a matter of seconds

Koni's Lifetime warranty.

Many people have said that this shock with your set of sport spring was the best combination to a great handling car. They even beat out many of the high priced coil over sets. Dollar for dollar this is a great shock.

    Koni Yellows - best

Posted by Leon Dixon on 12th Apr 2017

Koni has a well-deserved reputation as being among the best, and for the R50/53 chassis these are about the best balance of street supple and autocross/race-level firm available, and very adjustable. Only drawback is with the HK sound system, you can't just throw a hole in there and reach the rear shock adjusters, it takes a couple jackstands and 4 bolts - still a doable job and worth it for a day of autocross. My "old" Koni Yellows had at least 75kmiles on them, and the brand new ones were a noticeable - but not huge - difference... meaning the "old" ones, while rusty on the outside, were still performing admirably 70++kmiles later. If I had to come up with a drawback it'd be that the old ones got a bit rusty after 6+ years under my car year-round... in Pittsburgh... but scraping/sanding and painting brought 'em back, and the mechanicals still worked, so that's a huge plus.

Both of my MINIs use Koni Sport Shocks. Improves ride, cornering, and is a great improvement over stock shocks! If your stock shocks are old, try these for replacements!
