Description Reviews The Gen 2 MINI “S” motors suffers from excess heat build up due to the turbocharger which causes the hood scoops to melt and warp. To help combat this problem, MINI offers a heat shield to dissipate heat away from the scoop to help prevent any melting, warping, or even burnt aftermarket stripes. It works amazingly well at a great low price! This kit comes with everything you need to install it. It is a simple install and at a much lower cost than other items on the market. You just need a philips head screwdriver and 5 minuets of your time. Note: Will fit with or without bonnet insulation that is installed from the factory. Not all cars came with it. We can get it for you if you would like, just give us a call! 3 Reviews 3 HOOD SCOPE HEAT SHIELD Posted by Jacques on 14th May 2020 Product came quickly and was as advertised, but installation instructions were not provided and I ruined the product trying to install. DT Edit: This is an OEM MINI Part and 95% of all MINI parts do not come with any instructions. But we are always just a phone call away to be able to help you. 3 After 2013, get the tin snips ;) Posted by Philip Roberts on 1st Jul 2017 I put this on my 2014 R59. I had to pick back the factory insulator, no big deal. The notches on the top don't fit the 2014 and require a little adjustment with tin snips to clear the center. After a little head scratching and cussing, it went together pretty nicely. Start your screws before you put them in or they break. 3 Fits well Posted by Unknown on 1st Jun 2017 Looks and feels cheap for the price (very thin). Fits perfectly - but I don't like the cheap plastic fasteners - the original fasteners had a larger washer.
