This gasket is a direct replacement to the OEM gasket that leaks at the front due to heat from the turbo. It's also a good idea to replace this gasket when you are doing a timing chain kit. You will need to supply a dab of silicone in the corners of the gasket (not included) on the drive side of the motor (like is shown when you remove the old gasket). Clean off the sealing area well before installing the new gasket. Torque the bolts to 7.3 ft. lbs. from the inside out. Super simple and easy install with basic hand tools.
